I watched about a dozen Nighthawks fly overhead tonight around 7 pm.
They were flying just above the trees, and like Roger, it struck me as
odd that they were flying Northeast.
This morning between 9:00 and 9:30 I sat in a 5 acre field and watched
as 10 Nighthawks flew circles overhead, banking and diving below the
treeline. It was exciting to watch the aerial show as this group was
apparently hawking insects just above this field for at least a half an
hour.
