The Snowy Owl made its appearance later than usual, at 4:58 PM, flying up on a
Number 3 marker and perching there for about 24 minutes before taking off and
heading south towards Dangerfield Island. The small group of spectators at
hand witnessed a beautiful transition from the earlier dank weather to a
rather spectacular golden light prior to sunset. Pink clouds and a full
moon added to the magic. So, despite not seeing the Snowy Owl hunt, i t was a
very memorable event.
