Sorry about that -- I think the directions were published a while back, but
I've also sent the off-list to several birders. Might as well repeat them here:
Montressor Road is between Leesburg, VA and the tiny village of Luckett's, VA
on Route 15, headed north toward Point of Rocks (the signs say to Frederick,
MD). However you would reach Leesburg (i.e., via the Dulles Greenway, Route 7
from the east or west, or via Rt. 15 coming from the direction of Warrenton,
or south from MD):
Montressor Road is Rt. 661, but headed west off Rt. 15: NOTE: If headed north
(from Leesburg area), pass the traffic light for White's Ferry and then watch
for Rt. 661 on the RIGHT but do NOT turn there -- unless you'd like to bird
along beautiful Limestone School Rd and Hibler Road, which intersects it --
Montressor Rd. then cuts into Rt. 15 ahead on the LEFT. Midway down that gravel
road, more or less opposite the entrance to Montressor Farm, and all the way to
the right-angle turn, is the area where the SEOWs (and harriers, kestrels,
red-tails and previously the rough-legged hawks) have been observed.
