Hi all,
Today at about 1PM, an adult Mississippi Kite was seen along Route 600 just
north of the Eastern Shore Refuge by Bob Ake, Joyce Neff, Deniz Aygen and
myself. Although more reliable later in the month as birds tend to linger
then, this is about on par with early dates for the Shore. This particular
bird gave a grand view as it flew northward into the ne wind, frequently
banking and stalling in the stiff breeze, flashing its gleeming white
secondaries with every turn of its body.
