A Merlin was seen at Lake Fairfax Park between 4:30 and 5:00 pm. It was
visible from the bridge at the lake looking eastward (lake behind us), perched
at the top of a bare tree. Jim saw it while walking the dog, came home, and
the two of us returned to view it again. It was still there, preening its
feathers and relaxing in the setting sun. Beautiful! But not as spectacular
as the snowy owl.
