Hello, I decided to spend this beautiful afternoon birding on the Noland
Trail in the Mariner's Museum Park of Newport News. I was pleased with the
number of Blackpoll Warblers (9), as well as the presence of a couple of
Black-throated Green Warblers, which I have never seen before at that
location. Also, I was surprised with good albeit brief looks at a
Swainson's Thrush and another thrush which I identified as a Veery, on
account of its lack of breast spotting (not a hermit or wood thrush) and the
uniformly reddish-brown color of its back. A complete listing follows.
