Howdy all,
A quick post to inform everyone that there is a MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD currently on
route 600 on the eastern shore just north of the ESVNWR. The bird was first
spotted by John Little and friend at about 3pm this afternoon. The bird is
located about a quarter mile north of the T-intersection at the north end of
the NWR. It was hanging around the field and power lines just immediately north
of the Latimer house (first house on the westside of 600 north of the NWR).
There is a private road that runs east off 600 at this location. This road is
called Dixon Dr. Check the powerlines and some of the trees for the bird at
this location.
This bird is a male and quite visible. It appears to not like cars but it
always returned to the same area.
John, Brian Taber, and myself all got pictures and Bob Anderson got video
documentation. The bird was still there as of 4:30pm.
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
