All,
I spent a couple hours at Leesylvania State Park this afternoon. There
were at least 4 singing Yellow-throated Warblers strung out along the
road when I arrived at 1:00pm. I took the time to find one in my
binoculars near the picnic area just to see that gorgeous throat and
head pattern. Heard a Northern Parula near the amphitheater and a Brown
Creeper there also. A Caspian Tern cruised by the boat ramp but I did
not see any Royal Terns. Neabsco Creek had 50 or Ring-billed Gulls with
one beautiful Laughing Gull in full alternate plumage among them. There
were several Forster's Terns there but no other tern species.
