Birders,
Jen Folts and I made the rounds at Leesylvania this morning. We had
forty-odd species, most
important being the Purple Martin scout (one only) near the martin house cum
gourds by the
visitors center. The Ospreys were numerous and active, as were the Tree
Swallows and Mocking
Birds! I'd say Spring is in the air!
We had six, maybe seven, Yellow-throated Warblers in various places in the
park, including on
the entrance road down near the river. BUT we also had a singing male on
Neabsco Road just
beyond the WaWa (where there's a small wet spot by the side of the road, and
opposite it in
a housing development)> We ;decided that would be one heck of a good yard
bird!
