I saw three least bitterns at the marsh on Neacso Creek in Woodbridge, VA this
morning (5/29) They have nested here the past two years. I scanned the marsh
between 7:45 and 8am, and saw the birds as they flew over the marsh grass or
flew into the spladderdock (low vegetation between the water and the grass.
The marsh can be viewed from Neabsco Road just before the entrance to
Leesylvania State Park.
