VA BIRDers,
Yesterday, I visted the mudflats near the Stone Bridge at about 5 pm and came
up with a few shorebirds and a couple of other interesting species:

Also noted were a Tundra Swan and an apparently uninjured male Ring-necked
Duck, i.e., not Firestone. According to the records at Dyke, next week
should be peak for shorebirds in this area.
This morning I visited the picnic area (albeit briefly) and then concentrated
on Haul Rd. Highlight was Least Bittern calling from the north side of the
Haul Rd peninsula where it extends into the marsh. Also noted were a few
Marsh Wrens singing and a Prothonotary Warbler (thanks to Rich Rieger for the
finding the latter). I noted that Warbling Vireos and Yellow Warblers
exhibited a reasonably good migratory push despite the foggy, overcast and
slightly humid weather. Additionally, 3 Wilson's Warblers were noted. I
spoke with Sherman Suter later in the day who reported a Wilson's singing
near the Dangerfield Island bicycle path and so I think there was a nice push
of Wilson's, too. The usual good show by spring orioles was also noted. The
