I was surprised to see 3 Chimney Swifts at 6:30 PM Thursday 10/14 and then
at least five more today (10/16) at 5:50 PM over my neighborhood, Glencarlyn,
Arlington, Northern Virginia. In both cases they seemed to be enjoying the
breezy conditions and doing their thing cruising around with no vocalizations
heard. I don't believe I've seen them here before after October 7th, so this
seems late. Also finding Juncos and White-throated Sparrows near the Long
Branch Nature Center building already. Cheers,
Steve
