VA Birders,
I just received my copy of the second issue of Virginia Birds, published
by the Virginia Society of Ornithology (VSO). Editors Alan Schreck and Linda
Fields deserve our congratulations for getting this valuable new resource up
and running. (For those who may not yet be members of our state ornithological
society, the VSO website addrss is: www.virginiabirds.net).
When I received this issue, it reminded me that I had a couple of fairly
late dates for warblers at our Bird Stream at Fort C.F. Smith Park, Arlington
Co., which I should have reported. The last YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER (possibly 2
birds) was seen on May 25, and the last BLACKPOLL WARBLER (a female) on May
29.
