Following birds at Lake Anna at the Orange County Line/Route 522 Bridge:
22 Great-blue Herons
4 Great Egrets
7 Canada Geese
1 BARNACLE GOOSE
6 Solitary Sandpipers
The geese flew away to the east about 8:45 AM, probably to feed in
fields.
Following birds were seen in a new residential development called
Battlefield Homes. About one mile north of the aforementioned bridge,
take Route 651 east about a mile to a new gravel road on the right, go
to the end and scan the mud and grassy areas.
4 Greater Yellowlegs
35 Solitary Sandpipers
2 Great Egrets
4 Great-blue Herons
2 Green Herons
36 Canada Geese
Approx. a dozen smaller sandpipers were in the grass and were not
identified.
