Howdy all,
The last few days have been rather slow at the banding station. Yesterday we
banded 26, while today we could only muster 11. The forecast is not looking
real pretty either. We need a cold front to come through to spice things up
around here. Nonetheless, the weather has been great and the butterflies are
putting on a show!
Here's the totals for the last two days:
9/8:
American Redstart 5
Prairie Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 3
Black-throated Blue Warbler 1
Western Palm Warbler 2
Northern Waterthrush 1
Ovenbird 1
Traill's Flycatcher 1
Grasshopper Sparrow 1
Red-eyed Vireo 3
Veery 5
Carolina Wren 1
Blue Grosbeak 1
TOTAL --------------------------------- 26
9/9:
Common Yellowthroat 3
Northern Waterthrush 3
Ovenbird 2
Wood Thrush 1 first of the
season
Gray Catbird 1 also first of
the season
Northern Mockingbird 1
TOTAL ------------------------------------ 11
