Howdy all,
It was another too nice of day for banding today. We could only muster 31
birds for the morning. Guess the pleasent weather has kept the songbirds
vacationing away from the banding station. The "neatest" bird of the day was an
AMERICAN WOODCOCK. But of course, the two FOX SPARROWS we banded, were my
favorites.
Overall, activity was very light around the station, but thousands of
AMERICAN ROBINS and BLACKBIRDS passed by overhead this morning.
Here is the rundown for the day 13 Nov:
Golden-crowned Kinglet 1
Chipping Sparrow 1
Fox Sparrow 2
Swamp Sparrow 2
White-throated Sparrow 2
Song Sparrow 4
Slate-colored Junco 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler 12 back on top! With 12??
Hermit Thrush 4
Northern Cardinal 1
American Woodcock 1
TOTAL --------------------------- 31
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
