Howdy all,
The last two days have been fairly decent considering the warm weather and
the time of year. Outside of YELLOW-RUMPS, there has been no big numbers of any
species. We have had a nice little mix of birds however so it has not been all
that bad. We did catch a stellar BLUE-HEADED VIREO on the 6th.

As a side note, Kiptopeke State Park is doing a lot of pine tree removal so
some of the trails are closed off for the next few days. The area affected is
just north of the banding station running to the banding station. We will have
to remove some of our nets tomorrow to allow for the tree eating machine to
get in. The machine really throws debris around! We will still be running the
station but only protected nets where we are out of harms way as well.
They should be done by Wednesday.
