Howdy all,
Took the day off today because of the rain here this morning. Turned out to
be a nice day later however, but I needed a day to catch up on a few things.
Anyway, we did band yesterday and had a pretty good day until the rain bands
came in about noon. We had good pushes of HERMIT THRUSHES, YELLOW-RUMPS, and
SPARROWS again. Both KINGLETS are around in good numbers as well.
Anyway, tomorrow looks windy but we will try to band. Always a wait and see.

Here are the totals for 10/27:
Brown Creeper                   1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet        12
Golden-crowned Kinglet       9
Yellow-rumped Warbler       237
Eastern Phoebe                  2
Hermit Thrush                     9
American Robin                   1
Blue Jay                              1
Tufted Titmouse                    1
Gray Catbird                        5
Chipping Sparrow                 1
Field Sparrow                       5
Swamp Sparrow                   2
White-throated Sparrow         33
Song Sparrow                      9
Eastern Towhee                   7
Sharp-shinned Hawk             2
TOTAL ----------------------------  337

We also saw a NORTHERN PARULA yesterday as well.

A few days ago, I was picking through a flock of blackbirds (mainly
BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS) and found an all white cowbird! Pretty sweet looking!

Warm today, wouldn't be surprised if a Cave Swallow or two are around today.

Cheers,
Jethro Runco
