We also had fun with kinglets this week. In a Maple tree outside our
front door in a rather congested neighborhood in Alexandria, we saw both
ruby-crowned and golden-crowned kinglets--which we've never seen around
our home before. Of particular interest, one golden-crowned did a fairly
good imitation of a hummingbird as it attempted to hover while feeding
from leaves directly above its head. This particular bird performed this
stunt repeatedly for several days.
