Hello VAbirders,
At 12:45pm today I heard, and then saw, a pair of Kingfishers flying in the
vicinity of the recycling center on Pickett Street in Fairfax
City. Sometimes they flew quite high, circling around the area. At one
point they perched side by side in a tree that was growing alongside the
little creek that runs next to the recycling center. They chattered
noisily to each other most of the time I saw them. I've seen Kingfishers
here in the past, but this was the first time I've seen them in 2003.
Roger, about the Ostrich....let us know if it starts building a nest. Tis
the spring season afterall. ;-)
