[va-bird] Kingbirds in Franklin County

We, too, had a group of 9 KINGBIRDS go through our yard in Burnt Chimney on
Sunday.  Gerry, did yours happen to be heading west?  We've never seen that
many together before.

Other new yard birds for the day included CHIMNEY SWIFT, BELTED KINGFISHER,
ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, AND GREAT CRESTED FLYCATHER.

Subject: [va-bird] Hickory Hill Rd. - Hanover Co.- this morning


After the rain stopped and the sun came out, Neale & I birded Hickory Hill
Rd. for several hrs. in bright sun. It was quite birdy. Notable were: many,
many
White-throated Sparrows singing loudly and clearly massing preparatory to
leaving, a group of 9 Kingbirds together in two trees next to each other, a
female Cape May Warbler, Black-throated Blue and Hooded Warblers, many
Yellow-rumped ( also singing ), Yellow-breasted Chat, several Catbirds,
Spotted sandpiper,
Ovenbirds, Co. Yellowthroats, Wood Thrushes, several Yellow-throated Vireos,
and lot of White-eyed and Red-eyed Vireos.
