Hola Birders,
Well despite have a lack of clouds these past three days have amazed me! To
top it all off Bob Anderson lathered a thick layer of icing on the cake
yesterday afternoon when he spotted a Hatching Year Golden Eagle flying at
high altitudes. This gorgeous bird came in from who knows where! They are
incredible migrants after all...but early?
This provides Kiptopeke Hawkwatch with it's earliest record for this
species. Are there earlier dates for this bird in the state? I'd love to
know if you have any information on early arrivals for this species. Thanks.
Following is yesterday's totals:
OSPR: 47
BAEA: 2
NOHA: 5
SSHA: 1
COHA: 3
BWHA: 1
RTHA: 1
GOEA: 1
AMKE: 58
UnID Raptor: 1
Good day and good birding,
-Sam Stuart
