Today there was a Junco eating seeds on my deck. It's the first one I've
seen here since spring. In the morning I had the following at or below
the feeders. (In the order I saw them.) (The crows were eating the
squash seeds I had thrown out on the lawn. They circled them for quite a
while before deciding to try them.)
Blue Jay - 2
Tufted Titmouse - 2
House Finch - 4
C. Chickadee - 3
Cardinal - 1 male
Downy WP - 1 male, 1 female
Dark-eyed Junco - 1 (very black on top)
Carolina Wren - 1
WB Nuthatch - 1
Amer. Goldfinch - 3
Red-bellied WP - 1
Crows - 3
Screech Owl - 1 red morph (in his hole in the maple tree - not at the
feeders :-)
They were all there during a short time. When the rain started
they all vanished except for the House Finches.
What's the plural of Titmouse? Is it Titmice or Titmouses? :-/
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
