From reading other's posts, it does seem that a wave of Wilson's arrived
Saturday night. Mine was in the Woodcock Meadow. The gobbling was coming
from the North Marsh area. It was a good day for late-ish birds: RUSTY BBs
are still around in numbers (my latest by several days); the Woodcock Meadow
also contained a western PALM WARBLER (my latest by several days) and a RC
KINGLET; and I had a HERMIT THRUSH in White Oaks Park (my latest ever from
there and a day short of my latest in VA). There was also a silent EMPID in
the meadow. Judging by its bold eye-ring, grayish color, and short primary
projection, as well as the habitat it was using, it appears to have been a
least. A MARSH WREN was singing near the platform. Other notables:

My late afternoon walk in White Oaks netted me the three expected spotted
thrushes, so I had 4 species in about 10 minutes. Otherwise nothing new in
White Oaks (Renee had better luck in the morning than I did in the
afternoon - it's a bummer not being able to be two places at once . . .).
Another male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK at the feeder this afternoon.
