This morning as I was watching 15 hooded mergansers (7M, 8F) cavort on Jones Creek (off the York River), a flock of 22 wood ducks (11M, 11F) flew in and landed right beside them. I have never seen so many wood ducks at one time and to have flocks of two of my favorite birds side by side was spectacular!
