Henricus was open on the weekend but was closed this morning. A worker was
chaining the gate at 8:00 AM and said that the park would be closed during the
week because of the heavy machinery in use.
He said it was ok to walk on the road which we did. We met one of the
management people at the visitors center parking lot and he indicated that it's
a day to day decision.
We saw a RS Hawk, a couple of flickers, 8 or 9 wood ducks. an eastern kingbird
and many redwing blackbirds. We did not see any coots and they are usually here
by now.
