For those of you who did not see the previous posting of directions to the home
of the Houff's in Weyers Cave, here are the directions. Take I-81 North and
exit at the Weyers Cave (Rt. 256) Exit. Turn right onto Rt. 256 and continue
to first light, Rt. 276. Turn left and continue down 'country road' for approx
1.3 miles - Turn left on Pence Lane. The residence is a two-story brick home
circa. 1930's, #50 Pence Lane. You will need to come onto property - back of
house - to observe the bird. The Houff's have been most gracious to the
visiting birders. Birders have reported observing the bird today, 4-15-02.
The imm. Harris's Sparrow is most often seen a.m. and late afternoon, quince
bush area, in center of yard, usually foraging with White-crowned and
White-throated Sparrows. Please call Mae Houff at: 1-540-234-8284
