Observations:
Red-tailed - dark morph at 10:24 a.m. EST. Observed this bird through
scope. About the only thing "light" on this bird were the "silvery-like"
fingers in wings like that of Turkey Vulture.
Northern Harrier - high up over Rockfish Valley (to east) flapping
southward at 12:50 p.m. EST
Bald Eagle - adult at 1:11 p.m. EST (way off on east side of ridge, it was
at very limit of 10x)
Broad-wing were in no hurry to move through. Quite a few doublebacked
heading north and dropping into trees on northside of the gap. Last BW of
the day, a rather scruffy looking immature, was found by Gordy Adamski
perched on branch of dead tree short distance south of The Inn before it
flew off heading north across I-64 and down into trees.
Tree Swallow - some migrating high overhead throughout the day!
Pileated Woodpecker
Blue-headed Vireo - singing
Hummingbird - 3
Clouded SUlphur
Cabbage White
Red-spotted Purple
skipper sp.
