Observation start time: 09:00:00
Observation end   time: 15:30:00
Total observation time: 6.5 hours

Official Counter: Bill James

Observers:        David Holt

Visitors:
Dr. Holt stopped by to alleviate the ennui.  Jeff came by to point out that
RT's won't be gone until the snow flies in the North.  Very few cars on the
parkway, despite the inviting weather.

Weather:
Warm, balmy weather with nice southeastern winds.  Fog in the morning,
cloud cover most of the day, temperatures in the 60's, winds 10-15 MPH.

Raptor Observations:
Many Redtails around today and a couple of Accipiters.  Two Redtails were
vocalizing in response to a likely interloper.  I counted two RT's who
appeared to be up and moving and one SS who almost ran into me.

Non-raptor Observations:
Looks like the end of a great season, but there are those who want to go
into overtime and it does seem there are a lot of birds between Snickers
Gap and Harveys.  As Dr. Holt says: "You have to go to know".

Predictions:
60 MPH winds in the mountains with rain as the strong low moves through.
Or, if the next day is in August, hot and humid, no wind and lots of
gnats.
