Observation start time: 09:30:00
Observation end   time: 15:30:00
Total observation time: 6 hours

Official Counter: Baron Gibson

Observers:        Dillard Childress

Visitors:
Boy Scouts Troop #221 From Cave Spring Methodist Church stopped by while
doing an orentiering class.

Weather:
Heavy overcast early and mostly clearing later. NO WIND to speak of.
Compfortable temps all day. Hazy in the valley.

Raptor Observations:
No much flying today.
The Unidentified Raptor was soptted way out over the valley toward the NE
under the horizon. Upon scoping hawk, it looked different from anything I
have seen before. The hawk kited up to about eye level from the valley
then headed WNW in a glide that it never got out of until I could not see
it any longer. Hawk was dark on top with white on the uppertail coverts
and Rump area. I only got one brief look at the underside & it looked dark
with some white in the wings. I first thought because of the tail it was a
Harrier but it was buteo size and tail was short. Hawk was a steady
flyer.
An adult GOEA came into the Knob then turned around and went NE.

Non-raptor Observations:
Not much to observe today.

Predictions:
Sunday:
Intervals of clouds and sunshine in the morning with more clouds for later
in the day. High 51F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
