Mr. & Mrs Gilbert from Roanoke, Mike "MR. EAGLE" Crowder,
& Stephanie Hill.
Not many parkway goers. Sevaral day hikers and one couple hiking to a camp
site for the night. Hope they have their warm woolies with them.
Weather:
Thin cirrus clouds all day except for last couple of hrs.
Cool temps 2.4C climbing to a balmy 6.9C. Wind at a 1 from the West most
of the day then switching to variable late. Beautiful Fall day.
Raptor Observations:
First hawks were a male & female sharpie coming through together and the
male was harrasing the female all the way.
3 Imm. Goldens giving good looks with 2 coming through together @ 14:22
and the other @ 16:03.
Imm. Harrier @ 14:30 & Gos Hawk @ 14:31.
Good flight of RT's & RS's.
Last hawk was the late Golden (thanks Jim for the spot)
Non-raptor Observations:
"Good Spot" to all that helped today, At times there were 3-4-5-6 hawks in
the air at the same time flying at different heighth's, Thanks
5 loons, lots of Cedar Wax Wings and Robins.
Junco's flying around the Knob all day in numbers.
Predictions:
A few clouds early, otherwise mostly sunny. High 56F. Winds light and
variable. Winds @ 3000ft "CALM"
