I spent the day around Goodwin Islands in the lower York River on Wednesday and tried to keep up with birds that were around. It was tough since my head was underwater most of the day, so this is incomplete.

Best bird was a TRICOLORED HERON that flew over late in the afternoon.

American Oystercatcher - 3
Royal Tern - 2
Forster's Tern - 1
Common Tern - 2
Laughing Gull - 7
Osprey - 8 (feeding frenzy)
Purple Martin - 1 (flyover)
Clapper Rail - 1 (at least, heard)
Ruddy Turnstone - 4 (mixed in with peeps and little shorebirds too far away to ID)
Peeps and other shorebirds too far away to ID - many
Red-winged Blackbird - 1
Great Egret - 3
Snowy Egret - 2
Great Blue Heron - 1
Canada Goose - 2 (pair)
Double-crested Cormorant - 28 (most in a flyover squadron)
Brown Pelican - 2
