VA Birders,

    Birding was very lively at Fort Smith Park in Arlington Co. this past
week.  Several birders were there Monday Oct. 13, Wednesday, Oct. 15, and/or
Thursday, Oct. 16.  We found 30-40 species on each trip.  Highlights included
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker on Oct. 13 & 16; Blue-headed Vireo on Oct. 13;
Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Eastern Towhee, & White-throated Sparrow all 3 days;
Magnolia,
Black-throated Blue, and Palm Warblers on Oct. 13; Yellow-rumped Warbler, Swamp
Sparrow, & Dark-eyed Junco on Oct. 13 & 16; and Winter Wren on Oct. 14.
Yellow-rumped and Palm Warblers, Eastern Towhee, and Dark-eyed Junco were a few
of
the species that visited our Bird Stream during the week.
