VA Birders,
Today I checked out the Bluebird Trail on the Mountain Top Golf Course on
Compton Mtn. I was mainly looking for boxes needing repairs, etc.

While there I encountered 1 PALM WARBLER, 4 YELLOW-RUMPS, 5 EASTERN
BLUEBIRDS, 4 NORTHERN FLICKERS, 2 DOWNY WOODPECKERS, 1 RED-BELLIED
WOODPECKER, 1 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, 1 IMMATURE WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, 3
CHIPPING SPARROWS, 2 SONG SPARROWS, 2 DARK-EYED JUNCOS and 3 CAROLINA WRENS.

I was surprised that I didn't find andy White-throated Sparrows. They are
numerous in other locations nearby. Also NO WINTER WRENS yet.

Enjoy the birds,

Roger Mayhorn
Buchanan County
