Did the CBBT yesterday with some Canadian friends and although the numbers were
not impressive we did have some interesting sightings: Horned Grebe, Oldsquaw,
Common Eider, Red Breasted Merganser, Scaup (Greater?), Harlequin (three
females on the rocks of the island 4), Purple Sandpiper, Ruddy Turnstone,
Sanderling, Black Scoter, Surf Scoter and 2 seals. Lots of migrating TVs and
Black - more Black Vultures than I've ever seen. Many thanks, too, to Ned
Brinkley for his magnificent Painted Bunting as well as the bonus Rufous Hummer
at his B&B in Cape Charles. We look forward to his talk with the Audubon Chaper
of Virginia Beach tomorrow night at 7pm at the Easter Shore Chapel on Laskin Rd.
