[va-bird] From the yard and neighborhood

Hi all,
 

This morning at the lake that borders my backyard was a Solitary Sandpiper.a
new yard bird for me.

 

Also of note in the yard this weekend:

2 males and 1 female Rose-breasted Grosbeaks

2 Great Crested Flycatchers

Red-Headed Woodpeckers (in my yard everyday eating shelled peanuts!)

Lots of Chipping Sparrows, Yellow Rumps and White-throated Sparrows

5 newly hatched Bluebirds in the nest box (hatched Sunday-see link below for
photo):
