My wife and I took a walk in our neighborhood park (Folly Lick Stream
Park - just outside Herndon) this evening just before sunset.
The Yellow-crowned Night Herons are indeed nesting in the park for
another year. There was one in the very same tree (on the same branch)
where they nested last year. This is the fourth year in a row that I
have seen them nesting in this park.

My wife also proved yet again that she has an amazing knack for finding
perched owls. She found one of the two Barred Owls that live in the
park. I managed to get a reasonable picture - especially considering
the low light conditions.
