Hello all
Hope all who went to the VSO meeting had a great time with friends & seeing
some good birds . Anyway I lead six members of the Augusta Bird Club up on Rt.
610 & the Blue Ridge Parkway to see some of the warblers that push thru this
time of the year . We all met at the Inn at Afton in a heavy fog . For safety I
started the tour out on the Parkway . At the very first over look we encounter
the best bird of the trip a Prothonotary Warbler ( there may have been 2
separate birds ) . With all the fog & rain in different places along the way we
tallied up 40 species of birds with 11 species of warblers . For the Smith's
many of these birds were life birds for them . Below is a list of what we saw &
heard .
