Although this is out of area, I thought those of you heading down to the OBX
this weekend might be interested.

Subject: Florida Specialties Missed- Sort of!
Date: Wed, 19 May 2004 23:14:52 +0000
Hi folks
I thought I would hit the Banks today, in search of the Florida
Specialties mentioned along the coast in the last several days
(Frigatebird at Cedar Island heading toward Ocracoke, Black-bellied
Whistling-Ducks at the Tyrrell Co US 64 fields). Well, I expectedly
missed refinding both. But I did stumble onto another Florida Specialty!
A Roseate Spoonbill was at Bodie Is. Lighthouse Pond this afternoon,
just snoozing his time away. This bird had apparently been found at
North Pond, Pea Island several days earlier. Cool bird! Hopefully he
will hang around for all the hordes of people heading to the Banks for
this weekend's Pelagic Trips. Good luck, later, Ricky
