Howdy all,
Quick note.
Totals for the day 3/26:
Swamp Sparrow 1
Common Grackle 1
Dead Frog 1 True! In with the grackle. Grackles eat
frogs???
TOTAL --------------------- 2.1
Enough said?
We did catch a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, for the second day in a row, that was
banded last spring! Those are always nice.
We found a LESSER YELLOWLEGS near the station later in the morning and had
five GREAT EGRETS working White Hill Lake. Most egrets I have seen together
there this season. We also saw a small RACCOON near the station after we closed
the station down around noon. He/she was acting a little strange. I don't think
it is quite rabies season yet, however. It struggled to climb a small tree as
we approached. I truthfully think he/she was starving. I felt bad for the
little fella.
Cheers,
Jethro
