Howdy all,
This morning was a beautiful day to be out in the trees here at First
Landing. Although there were not a bunch of migrants around, the calm winds and
wonderful temperature make it one of the best mornings of the season. The
highlights of the day were seeing a NASHVILLE WARBLER singing from the trees
around the
banding station and a pair of COPPERHEADS breeding on the trail at the
intersection of Long Creek and Kingfisher Trails.
We banded a total of 25 birds today but it was highly dominated by catbirds.
It still was a fantastic morning.
Birds banded today 5/2:
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET 1
WHITE-EYED VIREO 1
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT 2
OVENBIRD 1
INDIGO BUNTING 1
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW 2
GRAY CATBIRD 17
TOTAL-------------------------------------- 25
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
