VA BIRDers,
The Northern Virginia Bird Club is sponsoring this year's Fairfax County
Spring Count. Last year's species total was a respectable 164 species seen
in the one day - possibly the highest spring county total in Virginia. We
learned that to do a good job, we need to cover 22 key parks and habitats.
Your help is needed this year. Please sign up for a few hours for one of
the places listed below - or count your local patch. Send a note to me,
kurtcapt87 at verizon.net
or Rich Rieger at
zelig at aol.com
to help coordinate the various places. A few people have signed up for some
of the locations listed, but more help is always welcome and needed - places
like Huntley Meadows really need 2 or 3 teams of counters.
Thanks much!
Kurt Gaskill
