To second Jay's comments, Mary Alice also had Ehrlichiosis a couple of years
ago, caught from a tick bite while working on the Eastern Shore of MD.
According to her friends who live there, Ehrliciosis is rampant throughout
the eastern bay area. Luckily Mary Alice had a doctor who had treated this
before so knew the symptoms and she was treated right away.
The important thing to say is, ALWAYS, ALWAYS check yourself for ticks after
being in the field. We have been banding at Banshee Reeks lately and ticks
are everywhere up there.
