(Dyke Marsh is a tidal marsh on the Potomac river south of Old Town
Alexandria, administered by the National Park Service and part of the George
Washington memorial parkway;  the Friends of Dyke Marsh is a 30-year old
conservation organization with 501 (c) (3) status)

 

Featured speaker at our meeting:

Dr. Matthew Perry of the USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center will speak
on the Creation, Restoration and Management of Wetlands for Wildlife
Habitat, at the Friends of Dyke Marsh quarterly meeting, free to all,
Wednesday, September 6 at 7:45 pm at the Huntley Meadows Park Visitors
Center, off Lockheed Boulevard, Alexandria.

 

This very popular speaker will describe how amphibians, reptiles, birds and
mammals were surveyed on created wetlands to determine comparative
biological diversity of the habitats surveyed.
