At Huntley Meadows this afternoon a very cooperative American Bittern stood
out in the open for over an hour just 20 to 30 feet from the boardwalk. He was
standing on the left at the end of the boardwalk just past the tower. Other
birds of note were a pair of Red-Tailed Hawks, an adult Bald Eagle, a Wilson's
Snipe, an American Kestrel, Blue-Winged Teal, very noisy Blue-Gray
Gnatcatchers, and a Pileated Woodpecker.
