Hello, birders,
I had an entertaining morning at Dyke Marsh, the
marina and picnic area. There was a good variety of
birds and a couple of surprises. I wish I could have
spent more time there but I had to go to work.
Highlights were White-crowned Sparrows in a sparrow
flock far down the trail and Red-breasted Merganser.
Full species list is below, with numbers:
- Com. Loon??? - Possibly, flying over. Not seen
well.
- D.c. Cormorant - 95, most of which were perched in
trees near the end of the trail.
- Gr. Blue Heron - 20, mostly flying over

- Red-breasted Merganser - 1 female swimming in the
little cove between the marsh and the islands
