With high tide and little passerine activity, the birding at Dyke Marsh was a
bit on the slim side for the Sunday morning walkers. A group of 10 birders
assembled under cool cloudy skies and walked into sunshine and warmer temps
as the morning progressed. Not without a few highlights, we managed to find a
few passing warblers - Blackburnian, Magnolia, and - after much discussion -
a HY female Cape May Warbler. As reported in another post, we also
encountered an imm. Little Blue Heron in the small gut south of Haul Road - a
first for me at Dyke. Larry Cartwright saw the YB Cuckoo fly-over and we had
an unconfirmed sighting of Chipping Sparrow and a possible Great Crested
Flycatcher. Here's the list:
