What a beautiful morning at Dutch Gap. We saw an adult Bald Eagle and an
immature fighting over a fish. The adult won and chased the youngster away and
sat in a nearby tree to enjoy his breakfast.
Lots of nesting going on..the Osprey on her nest with the mate nearby, the RS
Hawk on the nest with the mate calling from nearby, at least 6 Geese on the
nest. The highlight was a pair with 4 little fuzzy goslings swimming around.
We also saw several Common Yellowthroats, 5 or 6 Goldfinches, a Kingfisher, a
Killdeer and many Bluebirds, Tree Swallows, Red Wing Blackbirds and, of course,
some LBJ's (little brown jobs).
