Last evening after Adult Education classes were dismissed at Woodson High
School in Fairfax, a young duck mother was frantically alerting us that four
of her young had slipped into a deep storm drain during the thunderstorms.
We attempted to rescue the babies, but the manhole cover was impossible to
move sans crowbar.
Fire department and Animal Control had no resources to offer.
This morning, a call to the high School brought immediate attention and the
school maintenance crew went into action. This morning I received a call
that a report of a Duck Rescue of the four babies who were returned to their
nest and their mother.
If anyone has an idea where Duck Rescue is located, I would like to support
them. The only one I can see on the Web is in Louisiana.
Many thanks,
