VA Birders,

On our first Wednesday NVBC Long Branch Nature Area walk yesterday, in
Arlington Co., we counted about 30 Common Nighthawks, most in a nice kettle at
close range.  They were a Life Bird for at least 2 of our 10 participants!  The
other highlights of our 37 species were a good flock of migrants, including
one each of Blue-winged, Yellow, Magnolia, Blackburnian, and Black-and White
Warblers, as well as Yellow-throated and Red-eyed Vireos.  I also had a Veery
near the Long Branch Nature Center.

Good birding,
Val Kitchens
Arlington, VA
